Job Description
Europ Assistance (EA) has grown significantly over the last few years, driven by major contracts wins with global clients (Airbnb, Expedia, Booking, Flight Center, American Express), with a priority focus on Assistance and Travel Insurance, with 4bn€ in forecasted turnover at 2025 year-end.
In 2025, Europ Assistance has created a new business unit, B2B2C Insurance Distribution Partnerships, with the objective to be the unit within Generali group answering all B2B2C cross-country RFPs, on all types of P&C and Life-Protection insurance (Motor, Home, Loan Insurance, etc). In this context, the new business unit will combine internal pricing and UW capabilities with local Generali units capabilities when / where appropriate.
To support the launch of this new business unit and drive EA future growth, we are looking for our Underwriting & Pricing Manager, reporting to the Insurance Distribution Partnerships Unit CEO – with functional link to EA Group Chief Insurance Officer.
Responsibilities
The Underwriting & Pricing Manager will:
- Build the Insurance department of the BU, defining technical framework & processes for pricing, including articulation model and principles with Europ Assistance and Generali local units
- Identify required capabilities and co-build to roadmap to scale Insurance partnerships capabilities
- Drive and articulate the BU replies as part of upcoming tenders (incl. building tariffs), interacting with potential prospects senior management
- Contribute to building and implementing the BU strategy, incl. commercial development plan / prioritization of segments and definition of the BU value proposition
In the longer term:
- Put in place adequate technical performance monitoring to closely track the profitability of our partners and products (and relevant associated KPIs)
- Develop the team as business grows (please note that, at inception, there is no team to manage. The team is expected to be built and grow as business comes)
This position is a unique opportunity to take part in the greenfield development of a new Insurance unit.
Preferred Experience
The candidate is an experienced Actuarial professional, with successful track record in large Insurance Group
He / she has a minimum 10 years of professional experience in Insurance, ideally spanned across different Insurance products and partnerships business. This experience will have placed the candidate into situations where broadness of vision is required, as well as ability to address issues and projects in a hands-on manner.
This is a senior executive position, requiring skills and experience in:
- C-level interaction, corporate vision, seriousness and reliability
- Decision-shaping, good communication skills
- Hands-on, change management and problem solving
- Project management and supervision
- Ability to interact with partners / prospects senior management
English is a must & French proficiency best, but not mandatory.
Other languages helpful.
