Job Description
The purpose of the job will be, under the direction of the Group Head of Tax, to manage the French Tax issues of the Europ-Assistance French legal entities (Holding, global entities and French operational insurance and service subsidiaries) and to lead all the indirect taxes topics within the EA Group worldwide (mainly VAT and IPT).
You will be a key stakeholder in the Group tax strategy definition and tax risk management activity.
Specific responsibilities
- Manage, in cooperation with EA France and Group Accounting & Finance teams, all the French tax topics concerning the French insurance, service and global entities, including the Holding (Corporate Income Tax, Fiscal consolidation, VAT, IPT, Salary tax, local taxes incl. CVAE, CFE, Organic etc…), in terms of compliance, computation, documentation and optimization;
- Ensure the implementation of tax risk management tools and tax processes for all the here-above listed entities;
- Manage the French R&D tax credit processes for the french entities, in cooperation with External consultant and internal IT, projects and procurement teams;
- Manage the VAT, IPT and similar indirect taxes issues impacting Europ Assistance business and transactions worldwide (international contracts, cross-border intra-group transactions, M&A etc…): tax clauses, VAT impact, mapping, analysis and optimization of external and internal costs linked to assistance transactions, IPT territoriality etc…
- Support the countries for all local indirect tax issues;
- Active participation to the countries tax reviews;
- Support the Group international tax and transfer pricing manager for all Transfer Pricing topics involving the French companies (transactions review and analysis, functional and economic analysis, documentation etc…)
- Tax reporting to Generali Head Office
Preferred Experience
- Master 2, DJCE, Magister and/or graduated from a Business School
- Perfect command of English (in written & in spoken)
- 5-7 years’ experience minimum in French tax topics and VAT/IPT matters within a multinational company or tax law /big 4 firm, ideally in the insurance and service sector
- Ability to develop good working relationships with a broad range of personnel, both internal and external
- Good business knowledge, with ability to see the bigger picture
- Excellent communication skills, with an ability to articulate complex issues succinctly
- Self-starter, flexible with good prioritization skills and able to work to tight deadlines
- Able and willing to undertake occasional international travel
